FRISCO, Texas - The Southland Conference has issued a one-game suspension to Texas State men's basketball student-athlete Cameron Johnson for violating the league's sporting conduct bylaws, specifically striking an opposing player during the Stephen F. Austin game on Feb. 24.

Johnson will serve the suspension during Texas State's game at Northwestern State on Saturday.

"The Southland Conference's sporting conduct bylaws are very clear," Southland Commissioner Tom Burnett said.  "Under no circumstance can a game participant strike or physically abuse another in a manner outside the game's playing rules."
