Southeastern Louisiana Notes: The Lions return only 14 starters to try and reverse the course of last year's team that finished 2-9 overall and  1-6 mark in Southland play ... the team did redshirt a majority of the 2010 recruiting class that Rivals.com ranked as the top recruiting class in the FCS ... 38 lettermen also return ... WR Simmie Yarborough is back as the school's all-time leader in pass receptions (168) and touchdown receptions (27) ... he enters the season with 2,002 receiving yards, 43 shy of the school record held by Felton Huggins (2003-05) ... WR Brandon Collins also returns after tallying 875 receiving yards ... he became the first Lion receiver to record three consecutive 100-yard games, doing so against McNeese State, Central Arkansas and Northwestern State ... QB Brian Young will be charged with getting the ball to them ... in six games and two starts last year, he threw for 1,012 yards and four scores ... the Lions have key losses on defense, including Tommy Connors, Mark Newbill, Ryan Godare and Re'Keem Wilson ... this marks the second year in a row for the Lions to open at Tulane, which escaped with a 27-21 win last year.
