Southland Football: Week Six Rewind

Central Arkansas beat Nicholls State 34-14 on “the stripes” in Conway to earn its second Southland Conference victory in week six. The Bearkats and Northwestern State each got their first conference victories of the season. The Bearkats won the Battle of the Piney Woods 51-43 while Northwestern State got past Lamar 30-23. Southeastern Louisiana dropped a non-conference game at UAB.

Sam Houston State 51, Stephen F. Austin 43
HOUSTON, Texas – Sam Houston State quarterback Brian Bell passed for 168 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for two other scores to lead the Bearkats to a 51-43 Southland Conference victory over Stephen F. Northwestern State 30, Lamar 23

UAB 52, Southeastern Louisiana 3
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Redshirt freshman Austin Brown completed 16-of-22 passes for 266 yards and a touchdown and UAB scored on four of its first five offensive drives in the first half while adding a defensive score to take a 31-3 lead at halftime and defeat Southeastern Louisiana, 52-3, Saturday afternoon at Legion Field.  | READ MORE
