Southland Football: Week Eight Rewind

All three home teams needed wins Saturday to keep pace with league-leading Southeastern Louisiana. All three picked up victories to stay within one game of the Lions, who were idle. Stephen F. Austin beat Nicholls State 44-10 and No. 19/17 Central Arkansas got past Lamar 24-14. No. 6/6 Sam Houston State cruised to a 45-10 victory over No. 21 McNeese State, which was trying to spoil the Bearkats’ homecoming game.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Stephen F. Austin did not make its largest crowd of the season wait long for the outcome of Saturday’s Homecoming contest against Nicholls State.
