FRISCO, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi senior guard Jessica Jammer has been named Southland Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced Sunday.

Jammer scored a season-high 16 points to lead the A&M-Corpus Christi to its first victory of the season with a 52-49 win over Cornell. The senior from Brookshire, Texas (Royal H.S.), also chipped in eight rebounds and a career-high six steals while dishing out two assists. For the season, Jammer is averaging 6.7 points per contest and leads the Islanders on the boards with 5.8 rebounds per game.

Honorable mention this week goes to Central Arkansas senior forward Megan Herbert, Lamar senior guard Kalis Loyd, Oral Roberts senior guard Kevi Luper, Sam Houston State senior forward Sequeena Thomas and Southeastern Louisiana junior forward Aja Gibson.
