The 2012 Southland Conference Cross Country Championships will be held on Friday, Oct. 26, in Beaumont, Texas at Tyrrell Park. Lamar will host the event for the seventh time. The Cardinals last hosted the event in 2010. The top men’s and women’s team are crowned league champion, while the top 10 individuals in each race are named all-conference. The men’s race will commence at 9 a.m. and will cover 8K while the women will start at 10 a.m. and cover 6K. Lamar men and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women were crowned the 2011 Southland Cross Country Champions. The victory for the Cardinals marked their sixth consecutive title while the Islanders claimed their fourth championship in the last five years.
