The 2012 Southland Conference Soccer Championship will take place Nov. 1-4, 2012 at Cowgirl Field on the campus of McNeese State in Lake Charles, La. This marks the second time McNeese State will host the event and the first time since 2008.
The winner of the Southland Conference tournament championship receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
Northwestern State, Southeastern Louisiana, Stephen F. Austin and McNeese State are the only current members to have won the conference soccer championship. The host institution has won three times with Northwestern State last achieving the feat in 2005.
Northwestern State boasts the most titles out of current members with four (1997, 2000, 2002, 2005), while Southeastern Louisiana (1998, 2009) and Stephen F. Austin (2003, 2007) have two apiece and McNeese State captured its lone title in 2006.
