Southeastern Louisiana Pair Earn Player of the Week Honors
FRISCO, Texas - Southeastern Louisiana defender Dana Mayer has been named the Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the first time this season, the league office announced Monday. Her teammate, goalkeeper Lacey Bockhaus has been named the Southland goalkeeper of the week, while Sam Houston State forward Kirby Zak was named offensive player of the week for the second time.
Offensive Player of the Week - Kirby Zak, Sam Houston State
Kirby Zak, a freshman from Weatherford, Texas (Aledo High School), posted her second hat trick of the season and assisted on another goal in the 4-2 win over Central Arkansas that clinched a Southland Conference tournament berth for Sam Houston State. The win also clinched the program's highest league finish ever (fourth). This was the third-ever hat trick for a Sam Houston player against a Southland foe.

Defensive Player of the Week - Dana Mayer, Southeastern Louisiana
Dana Mayer, a senior from Toronto, Ontario (Westin CI), helped Southeastern Louisiana post its 11th shutout of the season in a 4-0 win over Lamar. Mayer was also credited with an assist on the second goal of the game. Mayer has been a key part of a Lady Lion defense that has allowed only nine goals on the year.

Goalkeeper of the Week - Lacey Bockhaus, Southeastern Louisiana
Lacey Bockhaus, a sophomore from San Leandro, Calif. (Arroyo High School), recorded four saves in a 4-0 shutout of Lamar in Sunday's regular season finale. The shutout was the 10th of the season for the Lady Lion sophomore, besting her freshman total of nine. She also lowered her goals against average to 0.53.
