Hance, King & Pence Named Soccer Players of the Week
FRISCO, Texas - Lamar junior Lisa Hance was named Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week, while Stephen F. Austin junior Jordan King was named defensive player of the week and Sam Houston State senior Jenny Pence earned goalkeeper of the week, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Offensive Player of the Week - Lisa Hance, Lamar
Hance collects offensive player of the week honors after scoring two goals in Lamar's 5-2 win over Texas Brownsville. The Grapevine, Texas native, notched four points against the Scorpions, setting a single-game record for the Lamar Soccer Complex. Hance also scored the winning goal in Sunday's 2-1 win over Prairie View A&M.

Defensive Player of the Week - Jordan King, Stephen F. Austin
King wins defensive player of the week accolades after leading the defensive effort that held UTEP without a shot on goal for the final 37 minutes of the second half. The McKinney, Texas, native, set a school record, last week, with two first-half penalty kick goals against Louisiana-Lafayette. The goals were the first of King's career and the second goal proved to be the game winner.

Goalkeeper of the Week - Jenny Pence, Sam Houston State
Pence captures the goalkeeper of the week award after playing all 194 minutes in goal for the Bearkats last week, including shutout victories against North Texas and Texas Southern. The Kingwood, Texas, native, helped to halt the Eagles' win streak at four, winning in overtime 1-0, and topped Texas Southern, 2-0. Pence now has 29 career victories and 19 shutouts.

Each school's sports information director nominates and votes for the players of the week, though is not permitted to vote for his own player. To receive honorable mention, a player must receive votes from 25 percent of the Southland sports information directors.
