UT Arlington Student-Athletes Donate to Salvation Army
ARLINGTON, Texas - Christmas has come early at UT Arlington this year.
The UTA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee recently hosted a Santa photo shop this winter as part of the Southland Conference "Twelve Days of Christmas" program in which each of the 12 university SAAC groups in the league took one day of the holiday season to spend in an activity benefiting their local community.
UT Arlington student-athletes dressed as Santa Claus and took pictures with local children and donated the proceeds to the Salvation Army Angel Tree program.
The group held its first event Monday, Nov. 22 before the men's basketball team hosted Hardin-Simmons, then again in the women's game against Arkansas State Nov. 24. The final event took place Nov. 25 at the Mavericks Sports Grill.
Photos may be purchased for a minimum donation of $2 and are available immediately after the pictures are taken.
