UT Arlington 52, Nebraska-Omaha 60

ARLINGTON, Texas - The Mavericks suffered their last nonconference game to Nebraska-Omaha Tuesday in Texas Hall, 60-52.

Desherra Nwanguma led UT Arlington with a double-double, which included 14 points and 14 rebounds. Sabreena DeNure and Kiara Parker each scored 12 points and grabbed a combined eight rebounds. Parker also picked up four steals for the Mavericks.

DeNure was 3-3 from the 3-point line while also shooting 75 percent in the first half.

At the half, the Mavericks headed to locker room down by two with a Nebraska-Omaha leading 28-26.

Nebraska-Omaha started the second half strong with a 7-0 run, but the Mavericks were able to climb back within three with 5:58 left to play in the game.

"We just need to knock down some shots and not try to make things happen, but let it come to you," UTA head coach Samantha Morrow said. "Our post didn't shot the ball well as a whole and they turned the ball over too much."

Although the Mavericks were unable to walk away with the win, the team won the second-chance battle 13-10 with 5 lead changes.

The Mavericks remain home to host the Texas State Bobcats Saturday, January 28 at 2 p.m. for their last game in Texas Hall.
