Gustafsson leads teammates on links, earns SLC honor

The Southland Conference voted for the first Athletes of the Month for the 2007-08 seasons in women's golf on Wednesday.

 

WOMEN

Linn Gustafsson, Texas State University, Fr., Ekero, Sweden
Gustafsson shot a two-under par 69 during the final round of the Chip-N Club Invitational at the University of Nebraska to capture the individual championship and lead five Texas State freshmen to the team title. She had a one-stroke lead heading into the final round, but ended up winning the tournament by eight shots with a three-round score of 212 (-1) on the par-71, 6,079-yard course. Other Individual Statistics: Average score of 70.7 ... 86% fairways hit ... 83% greens in regulation ... 33 putts per round.
