Southland Announces Cross Country Athletes of the Week

For the second time in as many weeks a Southland Conference university has swept the cross country athlete of the week awards as Nicholls State freshman Brandon Kotzur and senior Charlotte Everhardt claim the Colonels first award of the fall.

MEN

BRANDON KOTZUR, Nicholls St., Fr., Houston, Texas

Brandon Kotzur took home the Top Collegian prize with his second place finish at the Ragin Cajun Invitational outlasting runners from Louisiana-Lafayette and Grambling State... The true freshman’s time of 22:58.99 was an all-time personal best in the four mile race.

Honorable Mention: Idilio Campos, UTA; Dustin Joubert, SHSU; Chris Pearson, NWLA.

Women

CHARLOTTE EVERHARDT, Nicholls St., Jr., Metairie, La.

Charlotte Everhardt helped the Colonels win their first ever invitational with her dominating first place finish at the Ragin Cajun Invitational... Her time of 20:17.04 was a personal best as she out ran runners from Louisiana-Lafayette and Grambling State.

Honorable Mention: Allison Ferries, SHSU; Lauren Merritt, UCA; Whitney Perkins, TXST.
