Lamar kept its home record unblemished with a 2-1 victory over Central Arkansas while Sam Houston State and Southeastern Louisiana had shutouts. Oral Roberts kept pace for second place with an overtime victory on the road at McNeese State Friday night in Southland soccer action.

Southeastern Louisiana 1, Nicholls State 0
THIBODAUX, La. Southeastern Louisiana senior Maiya Cooper provided the game-winning goal in the ninth minute and Lady Lion senior goalkeeper Lacey Bockhaus made it hold with a season-high 11 saves, as the Southeastern women’s soccer team picked up a 1-0 Southland Conference victory over Nicholls State Friday afternoon at the Nicholls Soccer Complex. Southeastern (8-6-1, 2-2-1 Southland) continued its dominance in the all-time series with the Colonels, improving to 22-0 versus its in-state and league rival. LAKE CHARLES, La. – For the second time in as many matches, the Oral Roberts women’s soccer team closes the match with a victory in extra time, defeating McNeese State on the road, 2-1. Jennifer Abernathy, the hero in the Golden Eagles double-overtime victory in their last match against Sam Houston State, returned the favor she was given by Whitney Booth against the Bearkats on Sunday, setting up Booth for the game winner in the 97th minute on Friday night. HUNTSVILLE, Texas – Katie Ferrera scored goals at the 16:29 and 67:02 marks to propel Sam Houston to a 2-0 women’s soccer victory over Northwestern State Friday night at Pritchett Field.The victory kept the Bearkats in second place in the Southland Conference race with a 3-1-1 record.
