STORYLINES
• The Huskies are entering their second season in the FCS and the Southland Conference.
• Houston Baptist will have seven home games at Husky Stadium this season and will only leave the state of Texas once.
• The Huskies have nine starters returning on offense and nine returning on defense, as well as all of their specialists.
• HBU has two new coaches in co-defensive coordinator Charlie Camp and secondary coach Brandon North.
OFFENSE
• The Huskies have a strong stable of running backs, led by B.J. Kelly, who earned all-conference recognition as a freshman. HBU’s running backs did not have a fumble in 386 carries last season.
• HBU returns five wide receivers who made at least 10 receptions last season and sophomore D’Angelo Wallace is the returning leader with three touchdown catches.
DEFENSE
• Linebacker Garrett Dolan was the team’s leading tackler with 82, earning all-conference honors.
• Senior defensive end Josh Jones led the Huskies and was tied for seventh in the Southland with 5.5 sacks.
SPECIAL TEAMS
• Sophomore punter Christian Guzman was a second-team All-Southland Conference selection, was named a First-Team Freshman All-American. He averaged 44.1 yards per punt with a long of 68 and 23 of 50 yards or more.
• Senior kicker Travis Shinn was the team’s leading scorer in 2014 with 42 points, going 6-for-11 on field goal attempts and 24-for-26 on extra points.
