FRISCO, Texas — The Southland Conference announced its 2026-27 men's and women's basketball conference schedules Thursday, comprised of a 22-game format that provides home and away contests between all teams for the second straight season.  

Conference play on the men's side starts on Thursday, Dec. 3 with Nicholls hosting UTRGV, pitting two of the SLC's three new head men's basketball coaches against one another. The men's schedule will follow a Saturday/Monday cadence at the start of the new year with competition scheduled through Monday, March 1.  

Women's conference play tips off on Wednesday, Dec. 2, with two-time defending Southland Tournament Champion SFA hosting Northwestern State. The Thursday/Saturday cadence will be utilized once again after several weeks of spread out conference competition in December, beginning on Thursday, Dec. 31 and spanning to Tuesday, March 2.  

The 2027 Air Force Reserve Southland Basketball Championships presented by Louisiana Office of Tourism will be hosted at the Townsley Law Arena in Lake Charles, La., March 7-11, 2027.
