Former Central Arkansas Golfer Christina Lecuyer Returns to Big Break
CONWAY, Ark. - Former University of Central Arkansas golfer Christina Lecuyer gets another crack at $100,000 and worldwide exposure when she returns to The Golf Channel's Big Break show beginning this week.
Lecuyer, who finished her UCA career in 2006, made her first appearance on Big Break Ka'anapali in 2008 where she finished in the top four. This year the show has assembled an all-star cast from previous shows for Big Break Dominican Republic at the island resort of Casa de Campo.
Being billed as "Reunion. Revenge. Redemption.", the show will feature six men and six women from past seasons competing for the cash as well as a spot in an LPGA or PGA tournament. It begins at 8 p.m. Wednesday on The Golf Channel.
Lecuyer, and Edmonton, Alberta native who now makes her home in Conway and plays out of Centennial Valley Golf and Country Club, played at UCA along with two of her brothers. She was a three-time All-Conference selection at UCA and was also an All-Academic selection. Lecuyer graduated Magna Cum Laude from UCA with a 3.9 grade-point average in business management and was a second-team Academic All-American by ESPN The Magazine.
During her outstanding UCA career, Lecuyer qualified for the 2006 NCAA Regionals as an individual and helped her team win the Gulf South Conference championship in 2005.
