No. 7/6 Sam Houston State 66, Lamar 0
HUNTSVILLE, Texas - Sophomore Richard Sincere rushed for 102 yards and a 40-yard touchdown and caught a 77-yard pass for another TD to lead Sam Houston to a 66-0 shutout of the Lamar Cardinals Saturday afternoon at Eliott T. Bowers Stadium.

The 66 points represented the second highest score for the Bearkats in a Southland Conference game. Sam Houston scored 69 against Nicholls State in 1999.

Keyshawn Hill rushed 14 times for 135 yards and a touchdown, all in the second half. Tim Flanders, the conference's leading rusher, carried 13 times for 53 yards for three touchdowns in the first half. Ryan Wilson carried 10 times for 88 yards and two touchdowns.

Brian Bell completed 5 of 8 passes for 160 yards. His 77-yard strike to Sincere came on the opening offensive play of the game.

Sam Houston extended its season record to 8-0, the Bearkats' best start since 1964. Going back to the final two games of 2010, Sam Houston owns a 10-game winning streak, the longest at the school since 1956.

Sam Houston is one of just two unbeaten teams in the Football Championship Subdivision after Saturday's games. Top-ranked Georgia Southern was upset by Appalachian State. No. 3 North Dakota State is the other FCS undefeated team after getting past No. 2 Northern Iowa.

Stephen F. Austin 37, McNeese State 17

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Junior Willie Jefferson led a defensive effort that saw Stephen F. Austin record nine sacks in a 37-17 homecoming victory over McNeese State Saturday at Homer Bryce Stadium. The win moved SFA to 3-5 on the season and 2-2 in Southland Conference play.

The Lumberjacks held McNeese State (3-5 overall, 2-3 Southland) to 224 yards of total offense, and only 30 yards rushing. SFA dropped the Cowboys' quarterback nine times, including a school record 4.5 sacks from Jefferson. It marked the second time in has many weeks that SFA's defense has held its opponent to less than 230 yards of total offense. Junior Jordan Aubrey led the defense with 12 tackles, including eight solo stops, while classmate Ryan Epperson added 10 tackles, including an interception he returned 68 yards to set up another SFA touchdown.

If Jefferson's record-breaking performance wasn't enough, he picked off McNeese quarterback Cody Stroud in the end zone for a score to give SFA an insurmountable advantage. It marked the second time this season Jefferson has picked off a pass for a score.

Attaway completed 31 passes to 10 different targets for 248 yards and one touchdown. While Attaway completed 73 percent of his passes, the running backs kept the McNeese State defense honest. Junior Jeremy Barnes led the team with 14 carries for 68 yards and a score, while freshman Fred Ford added 12 rushes for 67 yards and a touchdown.

Central Arkansas 55, Southeastern Louisiana 29

CONWAY, Ark. - Central Arkansas put up big numbers on both sides of the ball Saturday night in a convincing 55-29 victory over Southeastern Louisiana in front of homecoming crowd at First Security Field at Estes Stadium.

The Bears (6-3, 5-1) got point production from nearly every skill player on the offensive side of the ball and forced nine turnovers in winning their fifth consecutive Southland Conference game. It is UCA's longest winning streak since joining the FCS in 2006.

The Bears rolled up a season-high 586 yards of offense, including a season-high 292 on the ground. Junior running back Jackie Hinton had 106 rushing yards, while two others had more than 50. Freshman Willie Matthews had 62 yards rushing and junior Anthony Blackmon added 58. Junior Terence Bobo had 5-yard touchdown run and also caught three passes for 14 yards. UCA averaged 6.9 yards per play on the ground and 8.1 yards overall.

Senior quarterback Nathan Dick completed 20 of 28 passes for 299 yards and 5 touchdowns to earn the L.B. Jackman Award, given annually to the outstanding player in the Homecoming game. It was the first time since 2007 that a UCA quarterback had thrown five touchdown passes in a game. The last to do it was current UCA quarterback coach Nathan Brown, who had seven against Texas State.

The UCA defense allowed 457 yards of offense, but more than evened that out by forcing a season-high nine turnovers. Senior linebacker Frank Newsome, junior linebacker Seth Allison and junior receiver Brett Soft forced fumbles, while Allison, sophomore cornerback Marcus Peters, freshman safety Bryce French and sophomore safety Karl Brady all had interceptions. Freshman Dezmin Lewis recovered two of the fumbles, while Newsome, Croom and Jerrel McKnight had one apiece. Allison also had two tackles for loss.

Northwestern State 23, Texas State 10

SAN MARCOS, Texas - Northwestern State recovered two fumbles in the red zone before a previously stymied offensive unit mounted an 80-yard drive capped by Justin Aldredge's clinching 33-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter of a gritty 23-10 non-conference football victory at Texas State.

Northwestern (5-3 overall) came off an open date and handed former Southland Conference rival Texas State (5-4) its first home-field loss this season.

Northwestern got fumble recoveries at the 12 by Wade Williams, after Lamont Simmons knocked the ball loose, and at the 4 by Ricky Isaac after a big hit by All-America linebacker Derek Rose to preserve a precarious 17-10 lead coming down the stretch.

A Northwestern offense held to six first downs into the middle of the fourth quarter rang up six more in the last nine minutes. The 80-yard drive featured three third-down conversions, the last when Aldredge took his second-ever handoff as a tailback for Northwestern on a third-and-1, found a hole over left guard and nothing but open field up the middle afterward to cap a 10-play march and boost the visitors up by two touchdowns, 23-10 with 4:45 to go.

The Bobcats outgained Northwestern 330-290 as their unconventional triple-option attack carved out 247 yards rushing on a defense allowing only 125 per game.
