Determination of Tournament Seeds
Format.  The top eight (8) teams based on conference win percentage in the final regular-season standings shall qualify for a double-elimination tournament to determine the automatic representative to the NCAA tournament. Seeds 1, 4, 5 and 8 will make up one side of the bracket while seeds 2, 3, 6 and 7 will occupy the other. As host, Texas State will have the opportunity to play the 7 p.m. game on Wednesday.

Tournament Seeding.  Tournament seeding shall be based upon order of regular-season finish.  A standard head-to-head tiebreaker shall be utilized.

Two-Way Ties. In the case of a two-way tie in the final standings, position in the tournament bracket shall be determined as follows:

(a)     Evaluation of the direct Conference competition for the two (2) teams tied;

(b)     If the teams are still tied, evaluation of results from games of those teams tied during regular-season play against those teams finishing ahead of the tied position, beginning at first place and working down the standings to the tied position or until the tie is broken;

 (c)    If a tie still exists, evaluation of results from games of those teams tied during regular-season play against those teams finishing below the tied position, beginning at the tied position and working through last place, until the tie is broken; and

 (d)    If the teams are still tied, a drawing shall be held by the commissioner.

Ties Between Three (3) or More Teams. In the case of a tie between three (3) or more teams in the final standings, position in the tournament bracket shall be determined as follows:

 (a)    Evaluation of the direct Conference competition for the teams tied;

 (b)    If a tie still exists between three (3) or more teams, evaluation of results from games of those teams tied during regular-season play against those teams finishing ahead of the tied position, beginning at first place and working down the standings to the tied position or until the tie is broken;

 (c)    If a tie still exists, evaluation of results from games of those teams tied during regular-season play against those teams finishing below the tied position, beginning at the tied position and working through last place, until the tie is broken;

 (d)    If at any time during this tie-breaking procedure, any team(s) should have an advantage over the other team(s) tied at that position, the team(s) holding the advantage shall assume a bracket position higher than the other team(s); and

 (e)    If the teams are still tied, a drawing shall be held by the commissioner.
