The Demons are now 1-2 on the year after dropping back-to-back road games to
LSU Sept. 10 and SMU this past Saturday ... SMU RB Zach Line ran for a
school-record five touchdowns in beating the Demons 40-7 ... Northwestern gave
up 530 offensive yards, including 416 on 26 completions, and scored on five of
their first six possessions to post a 26-0 halftime lead ... the defense played
tough near the goal line to force the short field goals, and that led to
Northwestern's only points - a school-record 93-yard fumble return with 1:41
remaining by senior safety Phil LeBlanc ... the Demons are averaging only 53.7
yards rushing and 138.3 yards passing for an average of 192.0 yards of total
offense through three games ... QB Brad Henderson has completed 42-of-61 passes
(68.9 percent) for 361 yards and a score ... TE Justin Aldredge caught the TD
pass, one of his 10 receptions totaling 155 yards ... RB Sterling Endsley has
scored two rushing touchdowns ... the Nicholls State game is the first of four
consecutive conference games heading into an open week Oct. 22 and a
non-conference game with Texas State Oct. 29.

The Colonels have lost back-to-back games to FBS opponents after opening the
season with a 42-0 win over Evangel ... Nicholls lost 38-7 at Western Michigan
Sept. 10 and 38-21 at Louisiana-Lafayette this past Saturday ... Nicholls
overcame two fumbles on its first two possessions to tie ULL 14-all in the
second quarter, but the Ragin' Cajuns returned a blocked field goal and an
interception for touchdowns to stave off the Colonels' upset bid ... RB Marcus
Washington led Nicholls with 95 yards on 16 carries and a TD ... he added a
touchdown reception in the third quarter from QB LaQuintin Caston, who finished
the game 8-of-16 for 100 yards, tossing a pair of TD passes ... WR Joshua
Warren rounded out the scoring for the Colonels with his first catch of the
season, a 36-yard reception ... Nicholls is averaging 182.3 rushing yards to
rank second in the conference behind Sam Houston State ... averaging only 95.0
passing yards and 277.3 yards of total offense per game ... Caston has
completed 22-of-47 passes for 185 yards and three touchdowns ... Washington and
Caston each of two rushing TDs ... Tyrie Allen has another.

The Bearkats improved to 2-0 with a 31-10 win over Central Arkansas last
Saturday in conference opener ... RB Tim Flanders rushed for 119 yards and a
23-yard TD and WR Richard Sincere added 107 yards on 10 carries and had scoring
runs of 9 and 45 yards ... the game marked the first time since 1997 that Sam
Houston has had two players rush for more than 100 yards in a game ... Bennie
Wylie and Erik Polk last achieved the feat for the Bearkats in a victory over
Texas Southern in 1997 ... Flanders has posted triple digit rushing totals in
both games, giving him nine 100-yard performances for his career ... the school
record for most 100-yard games is 11 by Charles Harris from 1991-94 ... Sincere
became the first receiver in school history to rush for more than 100 yards ...

this week at McNeese State, which has won five straight against Southeastern

Southeastern totaled 285 total yards and 19 first downs last Saturday at
Southern Miss ... WR Simmie Yarborough
led the Lion offense with seven catches for 81 yards ... junior QB Brian Young
got the start and completed 14 of 27 passes for 143 yards ... junior QB Nathan
Stanley also saw action for the Lions and connected on 5 of 13 pass attempts

on the ground ... Carey had 179 all-purpose yards in the game, 92 receiving, 19
on kickoff returns and 68 on punt returns ... WR Wes Briscoe had 113, all of
them on four catches ... OG Jonathan Landry had a pass reception against Sioux
Falls after the ball bounced off a defensive player and into his hands for a
9-yard gain ... Marcus Wiltz led the Cowboys in rushing with 49 yards while
Anderson had 45 ... QB Cody Stroud completed 16 of 25 passes for 226 yards and
a TD ... McNeese State is averaging 148.3 yards rushing to go with 268.6 yards
passing, which ranks 10th in the FCS ... its 417.0 yards of total offense per
