UTSA Drops Weekend Matches

WICHITA, Kan. - UTSA won the doubles point but dropped five of the six singles matches as Wichita State went on to a 5-2 win Friday afternoon at the Genesis Health Club.
The Roadrunners (0-2) picked up the win in the doubles session after winning both the No. 2 and 3 contests.
Sophomores Yannick Junger and Kolby Kilgo teamed up for an 8-5 win at the second position while senior Daniel Moser and freshman Joel Rubio also won their match with an 8-5 score.
However, the Shockers (1-1) rebounded to win five singles tilts in straight sets.
Rubio claimed the only singles point for UTSA after knocking off Juan Estenssoro in three frames (6-2, 3-6, 1-0 [10-8]).

WICHITA, Kan. -- UTSA fell one point short of its first win of the 2012 campaign as Air Force edged the Roadrunners, 4-3, on Saturday afternoon at Genesis Health Club.
UTSA (0-3) captured the doubles point for the second straight match, but the Falcons (3-0) rallied to take four of the six singles tilts to hand the Roadrunners their third consecutive loss.
Following the doubles session, sophomore Yannick Junger sprinted to a straight-set victory at the No. 2 singles spot and was followed shortly by a win from junior Tyler Brown, also in straight sets, at the third spot.
Air Force then rallied with three straight wins at the Nos. 1, 4 and 5 positions to tie the match at 3-3.
In the final contest of the day, freshman David Kelleher fell short in his debut for the Roadrunners as Alex Lineberry clinched the match for the Falcons with a 7-5, 6-3 win.
