Texas State 3, UTEP 0

Texas State 1, Baylor 0

WACO, Texas - Texas State softball blanked both of its opponents today, as it beat UTEP 3-0 in game one, and then defeated No. 9 Baylor, 1-0 in game two at the Texas Shootout today hosted by the Bears. The Bobcats improve to 7-7 overall. Texas State will face Texas Tech in the championship game tomorrow at 12:30 p.m.

Chandler Hall (2-4) tied her season-high of 12 strikeouts, as the senior pitcher/outfielder helped lift the Bobcats to a 3-0 win over UTEP in game three of the tournament.

Texas State 1, Baylor 0

Junior sensation Anne Marie Taylor (5-3) was amazing in the circle today as she pitched the Bobcats to a 1-0 win over No.9/10 Baylor for her second victory of the tournament. Taylor fanned five batters in seven innings of work.

Central Arkansas 2, Indiana 6

WOODSTOCK, Ga. - The UCA softball team was back in action today at the Twin Creeks Softball Complex in Georgia and they suffered a pair of setbacks after having won five straight. The Bears fell this morning to Georgia State, 4-3, before dropping an afternoon game to Indiana, 6-2.

A two-run walk off home run by Georgia State shortstop Brenna Morrissey snapped UCA's five-game winning streak, as the Bears fell 4-3 Saturday morning to the Panthers.

Indiana 6, UCA 2

Indiana pounded out 13 hits and starting pitcher Meaghan Murphy allowed just two UCA runs on nine hits in her complete game effort as the Hoosiers handed the Bears their second loss on Saturday, 6-2.

ARLINGTON, Texas - The Mavericks faced Drake in the first round of the semi finals play where they defeated the Bulldogs 2-0.

UT Arlington put runners on early in the third inning and catcher Erica LeFlore hit a double, driving in two runs.The Mavericks picked up another run when Stephanie Gonzalez rounded third after an error on the first baseman.

Drake's Nybo answered back in the bottom of the seventh with a two-run home run, cutting the Mavericks' lead to one, but UT Arlington was able to hang on for the win.

Southeastern Louisiana 3, Bradley 6

Southeastern Louisiana 1, Eastern Kentucky 5

WOODSTOCK, Ga. - The Southeastern Louisiana softball team saw both of its opponents rally for wins on day two of the Phyllis Rafter Memorial at the Twin Creeks Complex.

In the opener, Southeastern (2-12) saw Bradley (5-8) score five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning on the way to a 6-3 win. Senior Katie Matthews had given the Lady Lions a 3-1 lead in the top of the frame with a two-run double.

In the nightcap, a four-run third inning propelled Eastern Kentucky to a 5-1 win over Southeastern. Junior Michelle Duhe had a triple and a run scored for the Lady Lions.

Southeastern will close out tournament play on Sunday, facing Campbell at 9:30 a.m. CST.

Northwestern State 1, Tennessee State 4

Northwestern State 0, Arkansas 6

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Northwestern State softball team dropped a pair of games Saturday, falling to Tennessee State 4-1 and Arkansas 6-0 at the Arkansas Fastpitch Invitational at Bogle Park.

Sam Roberts crushed her first home run of the year and recorded her second multi-hit game of the season for NSU (2-12) against the Tigers (4-3), but her two hits alone weren't enough to earn the win.

In the second game, Blair Beard finished 3-for-3 with a trio of singles, but the Razorbacks (10-2) had a couple big innings to pull away from NSU.

Beard scattered her hits all over the field. She placed one down the right field line in the first inning, ripped one up the middle in the third and reached on an infield single in the sixth.

Nicholls State 5, Louisiana Tech 2

Nicholls State 4, Southern Miss 5 (8 innings)

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Nicholls State University softball team opened play in The Gold Pub and Grill Classic on Saturday and came away 1-1, defeating Louisiana Tech, 5-2, before falling in extra innings, 5-4, to host Southern Miss.

Nicholls (3-9) will wrap up the tournament with two games on Sunday, taking on IUPUI and Mississippi Valley State. A live audio broadcast, courtesy of ThibodauxOnline.com, will be available for both games.

In the opener against Louisiana Tech (4-7), Nicholls rallied from a

2-0 deficit, scoring five runs in the fifth en route to the three-run victory. The Lady Techsters threatened in the final inning, but Katie Moulder ended the game with a bases loaded strikeout to put the cap on her complete game for the Colonels.

McNeese State 0, LSU 2

McNeese State 8, Alcorn State 0

BATON ROUGE, La. - McNeese State's softball team posted a 1-1 record here Saturday on the first day of the LSU Tiger Invitational.  The Cowgirls fell 2-0 to LSU then bounced back with a 8-0 five inning win over Alcorn State.

McNeese missed a good chance to score the first run of the game when Claire Terracina led the game off with a triple.  Terracina was left stranded on third and the Cowgirls walked away empty handed.  The hit was the only hit in the game for the Cowgirls.  Meagan Bond suffered the loss by giving up six hits and three strikeouts.

LSU's Morgan Russell provided all the offense for the Tigers with a RBI single in the fourth and a solo home run in the sixth.
