FRISCO, Texas – Nearly 30 Southland Conference men’s and women’s basketball games will be televised under the league’s new ESPN Networks agreement during the upcoming 2015-16 season, and for the first time, all rounds of the men’s and women’s tournaments will be televised. The Southland office announced the package Thursday that will primarily feature Saturday men’s and women’s doubleheaders on ESPN3, and the same outlet will also broadcast the first and second rounds of the postseason event from Katy, Texas.

“We are very pleased to announce this expanded package of Conference-controlled men’s and women’s basketball games,” Southland Commissioner Tom Burnett said. “Further, the league will have the opportunity to broadcast all games of the always exciting postseason basketball tournament.”

The Southland enters its fourth year with ESPN3 serving as the primary broadcast home of its men’s and women’s basketball, and 2015-16 also serves as the first season of the league’s previously-announced five-year national agreement with ESPN Networks. Live basketball coverage includes at least eight conference men’s and women’s doubleheaders. The Southland is also planning “wild card” broadcasts based on competitive standing in the final week of regular season play.

During the Southland Tournament, ESPN3 will have exclusive live coverage of the first, second and semifinal rounds. The men’s championship game will be carried live nationally on ESPN2, and the women’s final will be televised live nationally on CBS Sports Network.

ESPN's live multi-screen sports network, ESPN3 is a destination that delivers thousands of exclusive sports events annually. It is accessible online at WatchESPN.com, on smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app and streamed on televisions through Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

The network is currently available to more than 99 million homes at no additional cost to fans who receive their high-speed Internet connection or video subscription from an affiliated service provider. The network is also available at no cost to approximately 21 million U.S. college students and U.S.-based military personnel via computers, smartphones and tablets connected to on-campus educational and on-base military broadband and Wi-Fi networks.
