FRISCO, Texas - Nicholls forward Ja'Dante' Frye is the week three winner of Southland Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week award, presented by
UniversalCoin.com. The Conference made the announcement Monday afternoon.
The senior from Thibodaux, La., averaged 19.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and shot 61.5 percent from the field in three contests last week, leading the Colonels to a pair of victories.
Frye's best outing came in a double-overtime win at Samford where he scored a career-high 33 points and was a rebound shy of a double-double. Frye shot 14-of-22 from the field in the victory and hit a pair of 3-pointers as the Colonels overcame a 19-point deficit in the second half.
For the week, Frye also added four steals and two blocks. He is an E.D. White Catholic High School graduate.

Frye joins teammate DeAndre Thomas (week one) and Southeastern Louisiana's Marlain Veal (week two) in claiming Southland Player of the Week honors for the 2016-17 basketball season.
Each school's sports information director nominates and votes for the players of the week, and is not permitted to vote for his or her own student-athlete. To receive honorable mention, a player must receive votes from 25 percent of the Southland sports information directors.
