Houston Baptist Center Ibarra Takes Southland Player of the Week Honors

FRISCO, Texas – Houston Baptist center Josh Ibarra is the Southland Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, presented by
UniversalCoin.com. The Conference made the announcement Monday.
The junior from Angleton, Texas shot 68 percent from the floor in the Huskies’ two conference home wins over Southeastern Louisiana and McNeese. Ibarra went seven for nine from the field, posting 16 points in 28 minutes of action in Thursday’s 81-74 victory against the Lions. He also pulled down eight rebounds during Thursday’s game.
The six-foot, 11-inch Ibarra then blocked three shots and scored a season-high 18 points – leading all scorers - in Saturday’s 60-49 win versus McNeese to keep the Huskies’ home record perfect this season. He also added 11 rebounds to snag his second double-double of the year.
This is Ibarra’s first Player of the Week honor this season.
