Coaches in a Van with Coach Van

HOUSTON -- Here's something you won't find at any other conference's basketball media day.

Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame member Van Chancellor sat down with each of the Southland's head coaches. Playing on the legendary coach's name, the conversations took place in a van parked inside the Toyota Center.

What resulted was 26 episodes of "Coaches in a Van with Coach Van." The shows will be released gradually on Southland social media channels in preseason and the early portion of the regular year.

No coffee, no driving, and no comedians. But still plenty of laughs, great stories, and just overall fun chats about basketball and much more.

Chancellor currently serves as a color analyst for Southland Conference broadcasts on ESPN3. He won four WNBA championships as head coach of the Houston Comets, led Team USA to a gold medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics and was named SEC coach of the year four times.
