Southland Conference Announces Week 6 TV Selections
FRISCO, Texas – The Southland Conference and its television partners have revealed game selections and broadcast times for football games to be played Saturday, Oct. 7.
The Southland ESPN3 Game of the Week is the 92nd Battle of the Piney Woods, as Sam Houston State faces Stephen F. Austin at Houston's NRG Stadium. The matchup drew 27, 411 fans a year ago, eclipsing the rivalry's previous record. The Bearkats won last season's game 63-28, capturing their sixth consecutive win over the Lumberjacks.
WatchESPN.com and ESPN apps will provide coverage.
Eleven Sports will feature McNeese at Abilene Christian. Launched in the U.S. in March 2017, the network is available nationally on DirecTV 623, AT&T U-verse 1665 and various cable systems. The game will be simulcast on the Southland Digital Network, available via
Southland.org/live and Southland Conference
apps.
FOX Sports Southwest Plus is set to carry Central Arkansas at Houston Baptist. The Bears will be fresh off their matchup with Sam Houston State, while the Huskies will finally have their home opener following a bye week. UCA-HBU will be simulcast on FOX College Sports,
FOXSportsGO.com and FOX Sports GO apps.
Cox Sports Television will air Northwestern State at Nicholls, as the Demons and Colonels play for the “Real NSU Challenge” trophy. The game will be simulcast on ESPN3 outside CST’s territory.
Southeastern Louisiana's home game vs. UIW will air exclusively on the Southland Digital Network. The broadcast will be produced by the
Emmy Award-winning Southeastern Channel.
For games in October and November, the Southland will reveal a majority of its television selections 12 days prior to kickoff. This will allow for the best matchups to be selected each week for various broadcast partners.
