A&M-Corpus Christi’s Booth Tabbed Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

FRISCO, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi’s Dalesia Booth is the Southland Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

Booth pushed the Islanders (3-2) to a 61-50 home win over UTRGV Saturday afternoon inside Dugan Wellness Center. The senior rung up a game-high 20 points over 37 minutes of play to lead A&M-Corpus Christi to its second home win of the season. To go along with her offensive output, Booth’s stat line against the Vaqueros included five rebounds, three blocks and a pair of steals.

The Islanders are back in action at home tonight against Huston-Tillotson in a 7 p.m. tipoff inside Dugan Wellness Center.

Women’s Basketball Player of the Week – Dalesia Booth, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi – Sr. – Guard – San Antonio, Texas
Booth scored in double figures for the third time in her last five games, recording 20 points against rival UTRGV in the Islanders’ 61-50 win at home. The senior shot 58.3 percent from the field and a perfect 4-for-4 from the charity stripe to go along with five rebounds and two steals. With her 20 points on Saturday afternoon, Booth now stands at 983 career points. The senior also added three blocks against the Vaqueros, bringing her career total to 99. Her next block will solidify her as the fourth player in program history to reach 100 career blocks.
