FRISCO, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi’s Samantha Palomino, Emma Crump and Emily Levy are the Southland women’s soccer players of the week, the league announced Tuesday. Weekly awards are presented by GEICO.

Palomino and Crump registered the game-winning goals in each of the Islanders’ road wins over the weekend, a 2-1 victory over Nicholls on Friday and a 1-0 decision versus Southeastern on Sunday, to pick up Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively.

Levy is the Goalkeeper of the Week after saving six shots and allowing just one goal, helping A&M-Corpus Christi vault itself into fourth place heading into the final match. The Islanders (7-9-1, 5-5-1 SLC) host third-place UIW at 7 p.m. CT Friday in a crucial seeding battle on the final day of the regular season.
