BEAUMONT, Texas – The party can start in Hammond, America, as Southeastern Louisiana completed its Southland Conference Soccer Tournament run with a 3-0 win over Sam Houston on Saturday afternoon at the LU Soccer Complex.

Lady Lion forward Jamie Raines accounted for all three goals, scoring two and assisting on another. The first came in the 13th minute when Mya Guillory perfectly placed a corner in the box for Raines, whose strong header found the back of the net.

SLU had a chance at a second goal in the 18th minute, earning a penalty kick that was stopped by SHSU’s Tatum Krueger. The champs eventually got their second score in the 63rd minute, when Raines one-timed a pass from Paityn Bretzer in the lower right corner.

In the 67th minute, the Lady Lions extended the lead to 3-0 as Hailie Yoder stayed with her first shot, collected the rebound and fired one past Krueger.
