All-Southland Bowling League Teams Announced
FRISCO, Texas – After a runner-up finish in the 2021 NCAA Bowling Championship, Arkansas State leads the way with four selections on the 2021 All-Southland Bowling League teams, which were announced by the league Friday. Seven schools from across the league were represented among the three All-SBL teams. The All-Southland Bowling League teams are presented by

The Red Wolves earned a league-best four spots among the All-SBL teams, with Taylor Davis and Faith Welch headlined for the Red Wolves as first-team honorees. Brooklyn Boudreau and Sarah Sanes were named third-team selections. Davis and Welch were recently named NTCA All-Region selections after pushing ASU to their 13th-consecutive NCAA Championship appearance, matching the team’s best finish in program history.
Reigning Southland Bowling League Player and Newcomer of the year Denise Blankenzee capped an impressive freshman season for Sam Houston with a first team appearance. Blankenzee was also named a NTCA First Team All-Region selection this season after leading the Bearkats to a berth in the NCAA Regional Finals.
Stephen F. Austin’s Carlene Beyer earned a first-team nod, accounting for one of the Ladyjacks’ two All-SBL selections, while Vanderbilt’s Mabel Cummins rounded out the first-team roster.
In addition to ASU’s four honorees, Sam Houston accounted for three selections, followed by Louisiana Tech, Stephen F. Austin and Vanderbilt who secured two spots apiece. Tulane and Youngstown State rounded out the All-Southland Bowling League rosters with second- and third-team spots, respectively.
The 2021 All-Southland Bowling League teams are voted on by the league’s coaches.
