Privateers' Pryor Garners Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor
FRISCO, Texas – New Orleans’ DeArica Pryor is the Southland Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. Southland weekly honors are presented by
GEICO.
Pryor went for a season-high 22 points against Grambling on 8-of-17 shooting from the field. Pryor also set season highs in blocks (2) and steals (4) in the Privateers’ final non-conference contest of the season. The Urbandale, Iowa, native shot 71 percent from the free throw line and 47 percent from the field.
The weekly honor marks the first of the season for Pryor. UNO opens conference play at home Saturday, Jan. 15 against Nicholls. The game will tip off at 2 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN+.

Pryor logged a season-high 22 points, five rebounds, four steals and a pair of blocks in the Privateers final nonconference game of the season against Grambling. She finished the game shooting 47 percent (8-for-17) from the field and 5-for-7 (.714) from the free throw line.
Southland weekly award winners are nominated and voted upon by each school’s sports information director. Voting for one’s own athlete is not permitted. To earn honorable mention, a student-athlete must appear on 25 percent of ballots.
