2022 Southland Conference Soccer Tournament bracket announced
FRISCO, Texas – With the completion of the regular season on Saturday after two weather-delayed matches, the bracket for the 2022 Southland Conference Soccer Tournament has been set.
The tournament will be hosted by Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, La., with three quarterfinal matches on Wednesday, November 2, two semifinals on Friday, November 4, and the championship match on Sunday, November 6.
Regular season champion Lamar (10-1-1 in conference, 31 points) is the tournament’s top seed and receives a bye to the semifinal round.
Host institution Northwestern State is the second seed with a record of 8-2-2 and 26 points. Conference newcomer Texas A&M-Commerce is the third seed at 7-4-1 and 22 points.
Houston Christian moved into the fourth seed with its winner in the season finale with a 6-5-1 record and 19 points, just ahead of fifth seed Southeastern (5-4-3, 18 points).
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (5-6-1, 16 points) is the sixth seed and McNeese (3-5-4, 13 points) rounds out the field as the seventh seed.
