NATCHITOCHES, La. - Second-seeded Northwestern State, third-seeded Texas A&M-Commerce, and fourth-seeded Houston Christian each picked up wins at the 2022 Southland Conference Championship at Northwestern State on Wednesday to move to the Southland Semifinals.

Alexa Huerta’s floating shot to the back post in the 106th minute gave fourth-seeded HCU a 1-0 overtime victory over fifth-seeded Southeastern Louisiana in the first quarterfinal of the 2022 Southland Conference Women’s Soccer Championship on Wednesday afternoon.

In front of a raucous home crowd, Southland Player of the Year Gracie Armstrong scored a pair of goals with two assists in the first ten minutes of the second half as second-seeded Northwestern State rolled to a 5-0 win over seventh-seeded McNeese in quarterfinal action on Wednesday.
