FRISCO, Texas – The Southland Conference has announced the hiring of Bronwyn Story as the conference’s assistant director of social and digital media.
"I am delighted to welcome Bronwyn to the Southland Conference,” said commissioner Chris Grant. “Her skills as a traditional and new media storyteller, combined with her natural ability to engage with student-athletes, fans, and coaches, will be contagious throughout our footprint as we look to double down on our digital media presence as a conference. Bronwyn will deliver an unparalleled social media presence highlighting our scholar-athletes, entertaining our alums and fans, and attracting the next generation of Southland trailblazers."
Story was the founding member of The Purple and Gray Network, a network devoted to telling the stories of the University of Central Arkansas' athletics programs. Through her four years with the network, Story served as Creative Director, Producer, Host, and Reporter.
“What an incredible honor to be asked to join the Southland family," said Story. "I’m so excited to begin highlighting the successes and telling the stories of the student-athletes throughout our membership."
Story produced on-field interviews, weekly highlights of key players, and storylines for short-form social media releases. Additionally, Story produced long-form interviews that aired on ESPN3 and ESPN+ during halftime of UCA football games.
Story also served as a sideline reporter for live broadcasts during UCA Basketball broadcasts.
Story earned her bachelor of arts from the University of Central Arkansas in 2020 with a degree in journalism and an emphasis in broadcasting while graduating Magna Cum Laude.
