FRISCO, Texas – Southeastern’s Caitlyn Williams is the Southland Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. Southland weekly honors are presented by GEICO.

Williams was a model of consistency last week, tallying 14 points and eight rebounds in both road wins against McNeese and HBU. The Brusly, La., native sits atop the Southland charts, shooting 56 percent from the field. Williams is the leading scorer and rebounder for the Lady Lion team that has extended its best Southland start (7-0) and is on the program’s longest winning streak since the 1994-95 season.

This marks her second weekly award of the season and career. Southeastern (11-6) prepare for a repeat of last week’s game as it welcomes (or change Southeastern to The Lady Lions) McNeese on Thursday, Feb. 10 and HBU on Saturday, Feb. 12 to the University Center. Both games will be featured on ESPN+.
