Portia Adams of Lamar wins Southland Women's Basketball Player of the Week
FRISCO, Texas – Lamar's Portia Adams averaged over 20 points per game last week, leading the Cardinals to a pair of wins over HCU and picking up Southland Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honors, as announced Monday by the conference office.
Player of the Week: Portia Adams, Lamar - So. - Guard - Cedar Hill, Texas (Cedar Hill HS)
Adams averaged 21.0 points per game in two wins over Houston Christian on 57.1 percent from the field. She posted a career-high 32 points on 11-of-18 shooting in Thursday's 71-63 win, which included 24 points in the first half. In the second game, she had 10 points (5-of-10 shooting) and two steals.
