FRISCO, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's Dennis Kipngeno and Deandra Ibarra have won the Men’s and Women’s Runner of the Week awards in week four of competition, as announced by the conference office on Monday.
Men’s Runner of the Week: Dennis Kipngeno, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi – Gr. – Nakuru, Kenya (Kirobon Boys HS)
At Minnesota's Roy Griak Invitational, Kipngeno turned in an 8000m time of 24:57.5 to end in 32nd on out 171. He was A&M-Corpus Christi's top finisher as the Islanders went up against stiff competition.
Women’s Runner of the Week: Deandra Ibarra, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi – So. – San Benito, Texas (San Benito HS)
Deandra Ibarra was A&M-Corpus Christi's top finisher at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational, hosted by Minnesota. Running against stiff competition, Ibarra legged out a 6000m time of 23:51.2.
