Sabria Dean wins her third SLC Women's Basketball Player of the Week Award

FRISCO, Texas – Lamar's Sabria Dean has won this week's SLC Women's Basketball Player of the Week award, as announced by the conference office on Monday. This is Dean's third Player of the Week award this season. She is the only repeat award winner in 2023-24.

Women's Player of the Week: Sabria Dean, Lamar – Sr. – Mineola, TX (Mineola High School)
Dean got the Cardinals off to a 2-0 start in SLC play with a pair of 29-point performances against both UIW and Northwestern State. She converted 60.5% from the field, including four-of-seven from downtown and was a perfect eight-of-eight from the free throw line. Against UIW, she put up 19 points in the second half as she led LU to a comeback 70-53 win. Then, she started the first half against Northwestern State with 17 points, which sparked a 73-56 win over the Demons. She was also efficient defensively with 13 rebounds in the two games combined. Dean is currently leading the Southland in scoring with 16.3 ppg.
