FRISCO, Texas — Lamar's Jacei Denley has earned Jersey Mike's Southland Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week award, the conference office announced Monday.
Women's Basketball Player of the Week: Jacei Denley, Lamar – So. – G – Beaumont, Texas (West Brook High School)
Denley netted a career-high 20 points to help the Lamar Cardinals earn a 69-44 victory over UT Rio Grande Valley to open the Southland Conference season. Denley converted 8-of-12 from the field (66.7%), including a pair of threes, and also finished with three steals and two assists. The sophomore went off in the second half by tallying 15 points.
