FRISCO, Texas — Nicholls' Michael Gray Jr. has earned this week's Jersey Mike's Southland Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week award, the conference office announced Monday.
Men's Basketball Player of the Week: Michael Gray Jr., Nicholls – Jr. – G – Fredericksburg, Va. (Blue Ridge School)
Gray Jr. logged his first two starts of the season, averaging 16.5 points on 7 of 14 from three-point range. Gray led the Colonels' second-half comeback at Louisiana, scoring all 19 of his points, including five threes, after halftime as Nicholls erased a 15-point deficit in the 76-75 victory. He also had 14 points in the blowout win over Mississippi College on Monday. For the week, Gray shot .563 from the field, 8 of 10 at the line and totaled six rebounds and three steals.
