FRISCO, Texas – New Orleans catcher Miguel Useche and Southeastern right-handed pitcher Brennan Stuprich were named the Jersey Mike's Southland Baseball Player of the Week for the fifth week of the 2024 season, announced Monday by the conference office.
Hitter of the Week: Miguel Useche, New Orleans - Sr. - C - Caracas, Venezuela?
Miguel Useche went on a tear with four doubles over the week. He drove in nine runs and hit .412 for the week. Useche had the go-ahead two-run double in the Privateers' series opening win over Nicholls. Useche began the week with a four-RBI game against Jackson State in a run rule victory.
Pitcher of the Week: Brennan Stuprich, Southeastern - R-Jr. - RHP - Kenner, La. (Brother Martin HS)
Brennan Stuprich tossed seven innings of scoreless ball, allowing only two hits and striking out five to two walks against Northwestern State in the conference opener. Stuprich was part of a combined shutout over the Demons.
