FRISCO, Texas — Lamar's Sabria Dean has earned Jersey Mike's Southland Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week award, the conference office announced Monday.

Dean averaged 21.5 points on 62.5% from the field (15-of-24), 5.5 rebounds, and 10 three-pointers while leading the Cardinals to two more victories over New Orleans and SFA. She led Lamar with a season-high 24 points, including six three-pointers in the win over UNO by hitting all but two of her 11 shot attempts and was 6-of-8 from the three-point line. Then, she tallied 19 points against SFA, including four three-pointers. Dean recently became the all-time leader in games played by a Lamar Cardinal (130) and was the second Cardinal to achieve 1,500 points and 300 assists, while needing one steal to reach 200 in her career.
