FRISCO, Texas — Southeastern's Sam Hines Jr. has earned this week's Jersey Mike's Southland Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week award, the conference office announced Monday.

Hines, Jr. averaged 22 points & 7.5 rebounds on 53.1 percent shooting in a 2-0 week for the Lions, hitting 66.7 percent of his three-point attempts and 80 percent from the free throw line in the two victories on the week. The USF transfer started the week by scoring 14 points on 46.2 percent shooting in the 79-75 win over UTRGV. He followed that up with the first 30-point game of the season for any Southeastern player while securing his third double-double of the season with 30 points and 10 rebounds in a dominant win over UNO. Hines hit 57.9 percent of his shots against the Privateers, including two of three from three.
