FRISCO – Southeastern Louisiana defensive lineman Kaleb Proctor and UIW wide receiver Jalen Walthall have been selected to participate in the inaugural NFL–FCS Showcase, an evaluation event created by the NCAA in collaboration with the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and the National Football League. The showcase will be held during the 2026 Division I FCS Championship weekend in Nashville, Tenn.
Proctor, the 2025 Southland Conference Player of the Year, led the league in sacks and anchored one of the top defensive units in the FCS. Walthall, a first-team All-Southland selection, emerged as one of the conference’s most dynamic offensive threats while helping guide UIW’s high-powered attack.
Proctor and Walthall are among approximately 50 prospects nationwide who earned invitations. The NFL–FCS Showcase is designed to provide premier, early evaluation opportunities for student-athletes eligible for the 2026 NFL Draft. All participants will undergo interviews with NFL club personnel on Jan. 4 and take part in limited on-field work the morning of Jan. 5. Invitees will also attend the FCS Championship that evening at Vanderbilt’s FirstBank Stadium, which will air on ESPN.
The event represents a coordinated commitment from the NCAA, AFCA and NFL to elevate visibility for FCS prospects and streamline the evaluation process for NFL personnel. Each NFL club nominated 10–15 draft-eligible players for consideration, with only automatically eligible 2026 prospects selected.
