FRISCO, Texas — Nicholls' Jaylen Searles has been named this week's Jersey Mike's SLC Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. Searles is the third different Colonel to win the award this season.

Jaylen Searles averaged 14.0 points and 7.5 rebounds as Nicholls picked up wins over UTRGV and McNeese last week. He posted his first double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, adding three assists and two steals to help knock off the first-place Cowboys, ending their 19-game Southland winning streak. Searles shot 6 of 9 from the field and 3 of 4 from three at UTRGV, scoring 16 points to go along with 5 rebounds in the road victory.
