FRISCO, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi’s Mathayo Bundotich and Elizabeth Khatevi earned the Southland Conference Cross Country Men’s and Women’s Performers of the Week, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
Men’s Performer of the Week: Mathayo Bundotich, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi – Sr. –Nakuru, Kenya (Athinai Secondary School)
Bundotich was the Islanders' best performer at the Arturo Barrios Invitational at Texas A&M last Friday, placing 32
nd out of 380 competitors with a personal-best 8K time of 23:46.8. His effort helped the Islanders finish 11
th out of 38 scoring teams, ahead of six different Southland rivals and three power conference schools in Texas, LSU and Baylor.

Women’s Performer of the Week: Elizabeth Khatevi, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi – Jr. –
Eldoret, Kenya
Khatevi finished near the top of a star-studded field at the Arturo Barrios Invitational at Texas A&M last Friday, placing sixth overall out of 417 competitors after finishing the 6K in a time of 19:30.8. This made Khatevi the best finisher among Southland Conference opponents, with nine teams in attendance. Her performance helped the team finish ahead of seven conference rivals and five power conference opponents in Arizona State, Texas, Texas Tech, TCU and Baylor.
