SLC Commissioner's Game of the Week: RV/25 Southeastern at UTRGV
UTRGV returns home Saturday after a heartbreaking loss to East Texas A&M last week. The Vaqueros will need a cleaner performance this time out, staring down a red-hot Lions squad only cooled off by the bye week laid into its schedule. Frank Scelfo’s team has won each of its last three games which includes a win over FBS foe ULM. The Lions crept back into the polls during their bye week, moving to No. 25 in the AFCA Coaches Poll and receiving the most votes of any non-ranked team in the Stats Perform Poll. Southeastern stares down the challenge of slowing down the Conference's leading receiver, Kyran Lee, who leads all pass catchers with 410 yards on 26 receptions with four touchdowns.

UIW at No. 11/10 Lamar
It’s a challending turnaround for UIW who remains on the road and prepares to face the next titan of the early SLC season - No. 11/10 Lamar. Big Red enters this one coming off a 42-14 demolition of Northwestern State. UIW has proven capable of springing an upset, but will deal with a productive Cardinals offense that has scored over 40 points in each of its conference games. Lamar will also look to continue to make its historic 2026 season push, having reached their highest ranking in a poll ever when they were named the No. 10 team in the AFCA Coaches Poll earlier this week.
