Colorado Springs Co. — USA Basketball announced its 12-man roster and coaching staff for the August 2026 Men's World Cup Qualifying Window 4 Team Thursday. Two names on the roster boast decorated careers in the Southland Conference. 

Lamar alum Mike James and SFA alum Kevon Harris make their returns to USA Basketball following their involvment in the team's 2-0 campaign in Window 3 that consisted of wins against Dominican Republic and Mexico. The two contribute to a talent pool drawing from accomplished NBA, NBA G League and international competition backgrounds. 

The team will first compete against Chile on Thursday, August 27, at 6:10 p.m. in Santiago, Chile. The second game of Window 4 competition is set for Monday, August 31, at 6 p.m. in Washington D.C. against Colombia. 

James had a record-setting showing in Team USA's most recent action, tallying a USA Basketball World Cup Qualifying record of 13 assists to go with 15 points in an 82-81 win over the Dominican Republic. He followed that showing with 19 points, seven rebounds and seven assists in another tight result that ended 94-93 in favor of the USA. 

Harris has yet to officially suit up for USA Basketball, but earned a spot on the intial Window 3 roster earlier this summer. He most recently posted 11.3 points per game, 3.0 rebounds per game and 3.1 assists per game in the 2025-26 season with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association. 

James' decorated Southland career came to a head in 2012 when he earned MVP honors at the conference tournament, leading the Cardinals back to the NCAA Tournament. He averaged 15.1 points per game over two seasons with Big Red and holds the single-game scoring record with 52 points against Louisiana College in January 2011. 

Harris finished his four years in the Piney Woods as the Lumberjacks' all-time leading scorer with 1,833 points. He was named the Southland Player of the Year in the 2019-20 season, the same campaign where SFA pulled off a historic upset of No. 1 ranked Duke. Harris scored 26 points to lead the Lumberjacks out of Cameron Indoor Stadium with a historic win.
