Opening Statement - "I'm real proud of the overall effort of our team. We were up early and survived UTSA's comeback and to hold on against the defending champions.  That shows a lot of poise by our girls.

On Mavs defense - "We worked a lot this week on applying extra pressure and to convert that into offensive opportunities. We were able to do that early in the game and held a good lead through the first half. We knew at some point UTSA would make turn it up and make a comeback and we were able to survive that because of our defensive effort today. Overall I was very pleased with our intensity on defense."

The ball just didn't bounce our way, we missed some easy layups and you can't expect to win against a team like UTA with those kind of mistakes."
